Paloma's Nest

Patrick and I have had so many ideas for favors the past couple of months. I think these little ceramic tiles from Etsy seller Paloma's Nest would be perfect for our wedding. We need our favors to be small, and easily packable as we have to bring them down to Jamaica with us in our suitcases. We still have to finalize the copy, but I think we have a pretty good idea of what we want them to say...

love jenna

I am so excited to share with you our lovely calligrapher's work, love jenna! Patrick and I have known Jenna for many years, we all went to the same art school and lucky for us she lives right down the street from us in Brooklyn. We met with her last week to look at all of the beautiful samples she created for our wedding. It was hard to chose one direction, each one was ever so slightly different, but nonetheless amazing. Her calligraphy has been featured in Real Simple, Good Housekeeping and Hallmark Cards. Not only is she talented with her lettering, she also does incredible displays for Anthropologie. Here are some of the gorgeous samples she showed us.

Cake Topper Inspiration

As soon as I finished up our invites, I sent Jen Murphy (our cake topper designer) our stationery suite along with these images for our inspiration boards. Along with images, I sent her some Mokuba ribbon I picked up a few weeks ago. I can't wait to see what she comes up with, she is so talented! I will be sure to post her creation as soon as I get it.

I sent some of the cake toppers I love from Patch NYC as well as Anne Wood for inspiration. Although I love their designs, I can't wait to see what Jen comes up with for our big event.

Sweet Acorn Store

How cute are these head bands and barrettes from Etsy seller Sweet Acorn Store? I am thinking of buying a couple for my flower girls, my only worry is they may be a little too big and uncomfortable for a 3 and 4 year old.

Skirts and Stationery Event

This weekend I attended the Skirts and Stationery event with fellow bloggers and brides to be, Vane of Brooklyn Bride and Anne of Perfect Bound. It was a sweet and cozy little event, great cakes to eat and beautiful stationery to admire! I loved the cakes, they were so tasty, made by Sweet Melissa's Archana, I tried both cakes; a buttercream pecan and a buttercream, chocolate with fresh strawberries on top... I was a bit out of it as I had a late night before (a belated birthday party), but nonetheless, the cakes were fantastic! I wish I remembered what the fillings were... On our way out, I admired all of the Nic Event's stationery suites, Nicole has such great work and it was sweet to meet her husband as he popped in to say hello.
